If you're anything like me, there have been seasons when you've wanted to know God more deeply but weren't quite sure where to begin. Maybe life has been busy. Maybe your faith has felt dry. Maybe you've wondered if God seemed closer to everyone else than He did to you.

I've had those moments too.

One of the most life-changing discoveries I've made is that our relationship with God is deeply shaped by what we believe about His character. If we believe He is distant, we'll hesitate to draw near. If we believe He is disappointed in us, we'll hide. But when we begin to see Him as He truly is—faithful, patient, compassionate, wise, and always inviting us into relationship—everything begins to change.

One simple way I've learned to draw near to God is by asking three questions whenever I read Scripture.

Who is God?

What does this passage reveal about His character?

How should I respond?

These questions have changed the way I read the Bible, and I hope they'll help you discover that knowing God isn't about collecting more information—it's about growing in relationship with Him.
